CROESO , WELCOME, TO THE BREATHTAKING BEAUTY AND CELTIC HERITAGE OF NORTH WALES, SNOWDONIA, AND ITS SPARKLING COAST
High in the mountains of Snowdonia, 'Eryri' in Cymraeg, the ancient language of the Brythonic Celts, the Princes of Gwynedd resisted the incursions of the Saxon invaders, and for two centuries, the Norman and Plantagenet kings of England until the late 13th century.
In the Northern heartland of Welsh independent spirit and folklore, the old language is, uniquely, still the first language.
North Wales is a land in contrast to the rest of the country. It is a place of magical, towering peaks, World famous beaches and coastline, mighty castles, and mystical sites of settlement and worship from prehistory. At sunset, the sky here is a pageant of unequalled colour.
Home of the true British, a visit to this prime scenic destination of North Wales is to come to a gem of the Isles of Britain, providing memories that will stay with the traveller forever.
ANCESTRY
Many of our visitors have come to North Wales to find their roots, some unaware until researching for their visit of their Welsh blood and heritage. Hopefully, with some advance warning , we can design a personalized itinerary taking you to places connected with your family history.
In 2015, The Travel Writer of The Guardian (the national not local) newspaper enjoyed a customised tour which we designed to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the death of Welsh Hero, Owain Glyndwr. The tour followed the trail of Glyndwr, from the place of his birth to the castles he conquered and the parliament he started. The page long piece was also referred to in the New York Times.
